Dominion Eye Care, PC is looking for a full time Ophthalmology Office Manager in our Manassas, VA location. This is a Monday through Friday position, no weekends or major holidays.
Job Summary: This individual is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational functions for the medical practice, ensuring that office policies, procedures, and plans are executed in a smooth and expeditious manner; office and, insurance administration, and personnel management duties.
Education and Experience:
1. Bachelor of Science degree preferred.
2. Five years medical practice experience.
3. Minimum of 2 years of medical office management experience.
3. Strong financial background and basic understanding of Excel.
4. Computer literacy.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Front Office
· Provides back-up to front office staff.
· Makes weekly/monthly schedules for front office.
· Trains and supervises front office staff (check-in and check-out).
· Manages check-in and check-out staff.
· Coordinates with Lead Tech to ensure a smoothly running office.
· Reports daily report to physician and practice administrator concerning the daily schedule, proposing solutions to any scheduling challenges and reporting on no shows.
· Prepares a weekly status report regarding front office performance, proposing solutions to any challenges being faced.
· Monitors inventory.
2. Financial Responsibility
· Posts charges, payments, and adjustments.
· Processes patient/insurance collections.
· Prepares daily deposits, including the change envelope, credit card transaction receipts, and petty cash reconciliation.
· Issues refunds.
· Manages postage meter, mail sorting, and post office activities.
· Coordinates resolution of computer and phone system issues.
3. Insurance Administration
· Processes accounts receivables for both insurance and patients.
4. Practice Management
· Manages human resource development for office staff.
· Creates and/or maintains employee orientation and termination protocols.
· Provides leadership, guidance, and expertise to all staff members.
· Effectively communicates departmental activities to the entire staff.
· Establishes a high performance team that is efficient, knowledgeable, service-oriented, sharing responsibility for attaining the goals of the practice.
· Provides office administration; obtains surgical pre-certifications and medical clearances.
· Prepares the master staffing schedule.
· Ensures recall cards go out.
· Reconciles “no show” list.
